New Recordings: Nineveh EP

Since it took us two years to complete our first full-length album, we have decided to divide future recording projects into more manageable sizes. Our next project will be a five-song EP entitled Nineveh.

Musically, Nineveh explores more traditional metal conventions (i.e., more old-school Metallica and Pantera, less Sevendust). The flow of the album will be a little more "breathless" than our first CD; we have eschewed lengthy musical introductions and interludes in favor of a more aggressive aesthetic. Also, there will be less screaming on Nineveh, mostly because melodic vocals are much easier to reproduce live than screaming vocals.

We're also tossing around the idea of recording acoustic versions of a few of these songs.

Lyrically, we decided to explore the story of Jonah, but without focusing on the fish. The most interesting question for us is, why did Jonah harbor such hatred for the people of Nineveh? Does his story have anything to say to me in the 21st century?

Stay tuned for more. We'll have new posts and pictures soon.
